‘Selfless, Brave and True’ - Press Release

MARY MARGARET DISCOVERS THAT AUGUST HAS BEEN HIDING AWAY FROM THE OTHERS AND IS COMPLETELY MADE OUT OF WOOD, AND EMMA IS SHOCKED WHEN NEAL INVITES HIS FIANCÉE, TAMARA, TO COME TO STORYBROOKE, ON ABC’S “ONCE UPON A TIME”

Eion Bailey Guest Stars as August

“Selfless, Brave and True” - While Mary Margaret goes off on her own in an attempt to come to grips with what she did to Cora and how her deed has affected her, she stumbles upon August, who has hidden himself away from the others and is completely made of wood — ashamed at the actions he has taken in life; and Emma is shocked when Neal invites his fiancée, Tamara, to come to Storybrooke. Meanwhile, before the curse was cast, August is introduced to a man of magic who may be able to prevent him from turning back into wood — but at a steep price — on “Once Upon a Time,” SUNDAY, MARCH 24 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

“Once Upon a Time” stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Lana Parrilla as Evil Queen/Regina, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/David, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Colin O’Donoghue as Hook, Jared S. Gilmore as Henry Mills, Meghan Ory as Red Riding Hood/Ruby, and Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold.

Guest starring are Tony Amendola as Geppetto/Marco, Keegan Connor Tracy as Mother Superior/Blue Fairy, Michael Raymond-James as Neal Cassidy, Eion Bailey as August W. Booth, Ethan Embry as Greg Mendell, Sonequa Martin-Green as Tamara, Dianne Doan as Isra, Peter Kawasaki as orderly, Rick Tae as doctor, Manny Jacinto as Quon, Tzi Ma as The Dragon and Jakob Davies as Pinocchio.

“Selfless, Brave and True” was written by Robert Hull & Kalinda Vazquez and directed by Ralph Hemecker.

Ask Ausiello: The Return of August and Sheriff Graham

Question: I’ve just finished watching the first season of Once Upon a Time and I love it, especially the relationship between Emma and August/Pinocchio. Do you know if he is coming back in Season 2? —Gaia
Ausiello: Yes, as previously reported, Eion Bailey will resurface later this season as August — as will Jamie Dornan as Sheriff Graham/The Huntsman! — but Emma will only reunite with one the fellas. “I don’t have scenes with Jamie, unfortunately,” Jennifer Morrison shares with us, “but I do have scenes with Eion.” Bonus Scoop: Though Matt Mitovich teased in the new Spoiler Alert! that there would be one death in this Sunday’s episode, technically there are two — one in each realm.

Matt’s Inside Line: Mr. Gold’s Adventure (+Tidbit on Returning Favorite)

ONCE UPON A TIME: MR. GOLD’S ADVENTURE

Mr. Gold is off on an adventure into a terrifying land he’s never been before — New York. And while Henry certainly enjoys the trek to NYC in this week’s episode of Once Upon a Time, Mr. Gold’s journey to find his son definitely is not going to go smoothly, according to executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. “I would say that ‘Manhattan’ is going to be the showdown that everyone wants to [see],” says Kitsis, referring to Mr. Gold’s reunion with his son. (Also, there are some amazing flashbacks that explain at least one major burning question fans have Gold for a very long time and the ending of the last flashback will send a chill through your spine.)

Kitsis adds that Gold’s confrontation with his son won’t be the only emotional turmoil we should expect in this week’s hour. “Emma is going to be dealing with a lot of emotional baggage [in the next few episodes], I’ll say that,” Kitsis says. “There are a lot of things she needs to get through.”

In related Once news, as I told you this week, August will make a reappearance later this season, and says Horowitz, “We can’t wait for you to see the next phase of his story.” But the rest of the season won’t just be returns from favorite characters. Two words: —i- -o–.

EW has learned that Eion Bailey — who plays August/Pinocchio — is set to appear on the show’s 18th episode, titled “Selfless, Brave and True,” after mysteriously disappearing earlier this season. No official airdate for the episode has been set.
Here’s hoping we finally learn how a wooden guy waltzes out of his bedroom without being seen. (Magic?)

Even though we’ve known for a day or two, EW officially confirms it.
